Delayed Is Not Cancelled
My family member was flying in and his flight was scheduled to land around 8:30 AM. We were all excited, checking the clock, waiting on that call that he had landed safely.
Then my husband Brandon called and said, “His flight’s been delayed.”
I turned to my daughter to give her the update.
And she goes, “Oh no… his flight got cancelled?”
And whewww—right in that moment, the HOLY SPIRIT checked me.
Not with a whisper, but loud and clear in my spirit:
“Delayed is not cancelled.”
And baby, I went IN. Right there in the kitchen. Hands lifted. Voice raised. My spirit caught on fire!
I started praising right in front of my daughter and she just stared at me like,
“What is wrong with my mama?” 😂
But she didn’t understand—I wasn’t just praising over a delayed flight.
I was praising over a life reminder.
Because how many times do we hear something is delayed—and we automatically assume it’s done?
That the dream is over. The opportunity missed. The relationship too far gone.
We start grieving something that hasn’t even been cancelled… just held up.
But delayed is not cancelled.
That thing you’ve been praying for?
That vision you wrote down?
That move you’re waiting on from GOD?
It might not have shown up on your schedule…
But that doesn’t mean it’s not coming.
Some delays are divine.
Some delays are protection.
Some delays are preparation.
And just because you don’t see it yet, doesn’t mean it ain’t landing.
“The vision is yet for an appointed time; though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not delay.” – Habakkuk 2:3
So whether it's a flight or a promise—if GOD said it’s coming, it’s coming.
Next time you feel stuck, remind yourself:
The delay doesn’t mean denial.
The wait doesn’t mean it’s wasted.
And even if it takes longer than expected…
You’re still cleared for landing.
