Don’t Let The Wind Take You Out
It started with a tree.
There’s this big, beautiful green tree in my yard. It’s strong, full of life, and honestly, one of the prettiest things on our street. But the other day, the wind was blowing like crazy, and a huge limb broke off.
At first, it didn’t seem like a big deal. The limb was still green, still looked alive, just laying there in the grass. But over the next few days, something changed. The limb started to darken. Then it turned completely black.
My daughter noticed and asked, “Why did it change colors like that?”
And I told her:
“Because it was removed from the thing that gave it life.”
As soon as I said it, I felt that whisper from GOD hit my spirit. Because y’all know HE speaks through everything—even fallen tree branches.
Disconnected From the Source
That limb didn’t die because it wanted to. It died because it got separated from the source. It couldn’t survive on looks alone. It didn’t matter how strong it once was, or how green and full it looked just days before. Once it was cut off, it started to fade.
And that’s how it is when we drift away from GOD.
We don’t always notice it at first.
We still show up. Still smile. Still post the scriptures and say “I’m good.”
But slowly, something starts changing.
The light gets dim.
The joy starts to shrink.
The strength we once had starts fading.
Not because GOD left us—but because we left HIM.
But Here’s the Good News…
You don’t have to stay in that dark place.
Maybe you’ve fallen off. Maybe life knocked you off your rhythm. Maybe shame or hurt made you feel like you couldn't go back. But I’m here to tell you—you can.
You can return to the source. You can reconnect to the light. And when you do, that glow you had? It’ll come back. Brighter than before.
Because GOD doesn’t hold grudges. HE holds open arms.
Scripture to Stand On
John 15:5 (NIV)
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
We were never meant to do life disconnected.
GOD is our strength. Our peace. Our source.
Don’t Let the Wind Take You Out
That wind came through strong. And life will do the same—hit us hard, fast, and unexpectedly. But if you stay rooted, stay connected, you can bend without breaking.
“Even if you drifted—you can always link back up with GOD. HE never stopped holding space for you.”
So if you’re reading this and you’ve been feeling far from GOD, just know:
HE never stopped loving you.
HE never stopped calling you.
And it’s not too late to come back home.
