Unshakable Peace

Have you ever felt like your mind and body are on high alert, like your nervous system is completely out of balance? I’ve been feeling that way recently, especially since returning from a 10-day trip to Ghana. While I was there, I felt a peace that I hadn’t experienced in a long time. Everything about it—from the slower pace to the kind people—helped me find stillness and calm. I realized that peace and happiness are possible, no matter where you are.

But when I came back to the United States, everything felt different. The stress, the noise, and the pressure of life here made me feel completely overwhelmed. The fast pace, the political uncertainty, and the pressure of living under demanding leadership made my nervous system feel “off” in a way I couldn’t ignore. It made me think: if I could feel peaceful in Ghana, surely I can find that peace again, no matter what’s happening around me.

The Power of Inner Peace

In Ghana, I found a way to slow down and reconnect with myself. The slower pace, the community, and the peaceful surroundings gave me space to breathe. But here’s what I learned: peace doesn’t come from being in the “right” place. It comes from within.

The Bible talks about this kind of peace. Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of GOD, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” This means that GOD’s peace is available to us, no matter where we are or what’s going on. It’s not about the world around us; it’s about our connection to GOD.

Living Under Tough Leadership

In times like this, when we feel overwhelmed by the actions of those in charge, it’s easy to lose hope. Political pressure, uncertainty, and the demands of leadership can create a feeling of chaos. But the Bible shows us that it’s possible to remain at peace, even under tough leadership.

One of the best examples of this is Daniel. He lived under King Nebuchadnezzar, who was a powerful ruler, but also harsh and unpredictable. Despite living under such leadership, Daniel remained grounded in his faith. He didn’t allow his peace to be taken away.

In Daniel 2:20-23, Daniel praises GOD for giving him wisdom, even in a difficult time. He trusted that GOD was in control. Like Daniel, we can also choose to trust that GOD is bigger than the challenges we face. We don’t have to let uncertainty or difficult leadership take away our peace.

Shifting Your Perspective

When we face challenges in the world around us, it can feel like there’s no way out. But just like Daniel, we have the power to change our perspective. Instead of letting the world’s chaos control us, we can choose to trust in GOD. When we do this, we’re able to maintain peace, no matter what’s happening.

Jesus says in John 16:33, “In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” This verse reminds us that while the world may be full of problems, we don’t have to let it steal our peace. Jesus has already overcome the world’s troubles, and through Him, we can have peace.

Staying Grounded When Everything Feels Uncertain

It’s easy to get caught up in the noise of life, but we can find peace by staying grounded in our faith. We can’t control everything that happens, but we can control how we respond.

When you’re feeling overwhelmed, take a step back. Spend time in prayer, read the Bible, or simply sit in silence for a few minutes. GOD’s peace is always available to us—it’s just up to us to connect with it.

Flourishing in the Midst of Chaos

Daniel didn’t let the pressure from Nebuchadnezzar’s rule keep him from thriving. He knew that GOD’s peace was stronger than any earthly challenge. Just like Daniel, we can thrive even when things around us are chaotic. When we focus on GOD’s peace and trust in His plan, we can handle anything life throws at us.

Romans 8:37 says, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” With GOD’s peace, we can not only survive in the chaos but flourish.

Are You Ready to Find Peace?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by everything going on in the world right now, know that you don’t have to face it alone. The world may feel out of control, but GOD’s peace is always within reach. Take a moment to ask yourself: Are you relying on GOD’s peace in the middle of life’s storms? If not, it’s time to turn to Him and trust that He will help you find calm in the chaos.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to GOD. And the peace of GOD, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Peace is available to you right now. You just have to trust in GOD, take a deep breath, and let His peace guide you through the chaos.

Deep breathe in — now exhale peace!
