Your Spot is Coming

Have you ever had one of those days where nothing seems to go the way you planned?

That was me not too long ago. I had a full to-do list and knew I needed to get out the house to really lock in and focus. Sometimes the walls start closing in at home—between the laundry calling my name and the snacks I shouldn’t be eating—it’s just better to switch up the scenery. So I grabbed my laptop, and headed to a local coffee shop I usually work from.

I should’ve known something was up when I pulled into the parking lot and couldn’t find a single spot. I walked in, and yep—completely packed. Not one empty table. People were on Zoom calls, study groups were in deep discussion, and a line of folks were waiting for coffee like it was the only place in town. I turned right around, determined to try somewhere else.

Coffee shop number two? Same story. Full. Not a seat in sight. At that point, I could’ve just gone back home and called it a day. But something in me said, keep going.

So I did.

I remembered a little spot I had passed by once but never tried. It was tucked away—quiet, lowkey, not the “trendy” kind of place, but it had a sweet vibe. I walked in and immediately felt peace. Soft music playing, cozy corners, outlets everywhere (hello!), and guess what? A perfect table just waiting for me.

My new spot. A hidden gem I never would've found if I hadn’t kept pushing through.

Pushing Through Isn’t Always Glamorous

Sometimes we expect the road to open up just because we’re doing the “right thing.” But what if GOD is using the detours to get us to something better? What if the inconvenience is really an invitation?

It reminded me of Galatians 6:9:
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

We give up too soon sometimes. When the first door doesn’t open, we assume it wasn’t meant to be. But GOD has a way of rewarding those who keep showing up, even when it’s hard, even when it’s frustrating.

The Lesson? Don’t Quit at the Full Coffee Shop

What looks like rejection might just be redirection.

That first coffee shop? It wasn’t for me. The second one either. But the third? It was just right. Quiet. Peaceful. Room for me to breathe, think, and do what I was called to do.

Now that spot is my go-to when I need a moment of clarity and focus. And every time I sit there, I’m reminded—GOD always has a place prepared for us. We just have to keep moving until we find it.

So if today feels like a closed-door kind of day, don’t stop. Keep driving. Keep knocking. Keep going.

Your spot is coming.
